Types of air extractors
Exhaust devices in natural ventilation in industry are mainly vertical exhaust vents, but also exhaust louvers built into the superstructure of the main building, sometimes in the upper part of the wall under the eaves of the roof.

Advantages of vertical naturvents
Exhaust louvers are constructed in such a way that when the ventilation drought is full, they protect the building from precipitation penetrating inside. The advantage of exhaust vents over exhaust louvers is mostly better ventilation efficiency, but this depends mainly on the design of the exhaust device itself, as well as where and how it is installed. An additional advantage of vertical ejection ventilators is the increase in exhaust flow due to wind.

Sound attenuation at the exhaust
Exhaust devices, both ventilators and louvers, can be equipped with acoustic dampers.

Fire smoke removal
Ventilators can also be certified for fire smoke extraction and then have the additional role of roof smoke dampers. Fire-certified ventilators are also called 2-function devices: the first function is heat dissipation in normal operation, and the second function is fire smoke extraction.
