Air intakes

Natural ventilation supply equipment in industry, or air intakes, are usually movable or fixed louvers. The main task of air intakes is, of course, to bring atmospheric air into the building directly or through the ventilation duct. In addition, air intakes must protect against drawing precipitation inside. In addition, depending on their purpose, air intakes can be equipped with bird netting or denser insect netting.

Air intakes in the form of fixed louvers, sometimes referred to as supply grilles, are usually equipped with multi-plane dampers to close off the air flow.

Silencers
Both types of air intakes (movable and fixed louvers) can be additionally equipped with acoustic dampers to protect the environment from noise from inside the industrial building. Acoustic attenuators suppress the air flow at the same time, so if acoustic protection is necessary, it is necessary to provide for (calculate) an increase in the supply area.
Heaters
An additional element of supply equipment in natural ventilation can be water or electric air heaters. However, such a solution needs an adequate negative pressure inside the building at the height of the natural supply in relation to the atmospheric pressure outside. In buildings ventilated by natural ventilation, this requires the generation of a sufficiently large gravitational draft and is only possible in very tall buildings (about 50 m and higher). In other cases, adequate negative pressure inside the building must be provided by mechanical exhaust ventilation.
Control

Movable louvers can be controlled manually or automatically.

The most common is the on-off control, i.e. opening to the design prescribed opening angle and closing completely. In situations determined by specific needs, analog control can also be used, i.e. opening the louvers to the requiredposition between fully open and fully closed.
